This Is What I Have To Say:

Well, all you Flash fans hoping for an Officer KO/Ali Riley reunion, it’s not to be.
BEAT SIGN KELLEY O’HARA.
(pause for my creys)

O’Hara says she is “super excited about it! There is an opportunity to be off the field with friends and family and to also have them come to the games. I think that was a big factor in my decision to play in Atlanta, and I am definitely excited to be able to do that.”

It’s like the Beat intend to like, win or something this season.
Also, it seems they really are trying to convert her into an outside back on the USWNT.

I started out playing at forward, then outside mid and now outside back, so it’s made me be flexible and versatile in working on my game not just at a specific position.

ATL gonna take Henninger first???

WPS draft picks are killing me. Interesting to see the Beat pushing hard for a serious team this year.
I’m back after a month absence.

Tumblr isn’t a big priority in my life. I knew I wouldn’t be on much, but I thought I’d be on more than I am right now!

Well, apparently it’s finals week so good luck to everyone taking your exams!

Jo Loh’s Coming Out Story

A+ Joanna Lohman.

If you can safely come out, come out.  It feels pretty good.  If you can’t come out, well…it’s small consolation, but there are a lot of ask boxes on tumblr that are always open for you.

Very well done Lohman.

What did wintersrecluse do that's so wrong?
Anonymous

It started off with him not understanding Occupy Wall Street, so I left him an ask trying to explain things. It moved to him saying Natives should have left their reservations, racism doesn’t exist, and calling me a racist for talking about white privilege.

I won’t be acknowledging it beyond this post, and I won’t be writing a response to it, because someone already wrote one far better than anything I’d come up with, and you can read it below!

The term PoC for people who are not white is not a term developed by white activists…it’s a term that originated for a sense of solidarity among “non-whites” (for lack of a better word) while framing the subject positively.
It’s true that only white people have power as far as race goes. A white person born into a poor family will probably have less power than a black person born into a rich family, and a white trans* person will probably have less power than a black cis person…but that doesn’t mean that the white people no longer have white privilege, they are just suffering from classism/cissexism/etc. There are no other races that gain special privileges or have power due solely to their race. None. PoC with power have power in spite of their race.
There are some white tumblr activists but many many more of them are not. I don’t consider myself a true “activist”, though I’m not the least bit afraid to call people out on their bullshit when I see it. I may pass as white but half of my family isn’t - assuming that a white activist is “creating racism” or wrongly “speaking for PoC” is ridiculous especially considering how many poc activists follow the power + privilege (not prejudice by the way lulz) argument.
Get a history book. Read some statistics. It’s great that you (as a poc I assume) do not feel as though these issues affect you, but it’s just as wrong for you to speak for all PoC especially considering racism is very much alive and kicking in the world today.
